SETT Innovation at Work – Inside the Toll Booth!

Driving through a tollbooth is a fairly routine scenario and I’m sure most of us don’t give it much thought; we just want to be on the other side! However, inside the booths are people who are trying to make a living spending hours and hours sitting inside these small, cramped spaces.
Toll booths are designed to be small and compact in order to accommodate as many traffic lanes as possible, providing better traffic flow and reducing congestion. Such space restrictions come at a price for employee comfort, and present logistical challenges with the “tools of the trade”: a computer, telephone, networking equipment, cash register, etc.
Recently, a toll booth management company was looking for a space-saving network cabinet in order to accommodate and protect their network equipment while showing consideration for their employees. Instead of using a standard, bulky network cabinet where the equipment is mounted horizontally, they determined that Sett’s Slim Line network cabinet would best fit their needs, accomplishing two goals simultaneously: housing and protecting the networking equipment while taking up far less space than traditional cabinets.
Sett’s unique Slim Line network cabinet design was created for just this purpose. It was developed as a solution for customers in need of a creative and efficient way to mount and secure their network equipment. After introducing the Slim Line model, Sett was overwhelmed with orders from many industries and government organizations. This led to a request from our customers for another model based on the same slim design that would allow mounting network equipment with a larger depth based on the same vertical mounting concept. Sett responded to its customers’ needs with the ‘big brother’ of the Slim Line network cabinet introducing the Tall and Slim network cabinet, which provides solutions for larger network equipment while maintaining the space-saving concept.
